What isn’t there to love about abandoned spaces and neglected decay. This site is one of those places. It is a discarded construction site at the edge of the ocean that is being reclaimed by the natural growth of vines. It is also a sanctuary for vagrants, with traces of their uses strewn about the corners of rooms. It left me with a haunting feeling and also one of unease. I began to take photographs of myself situated behind the vines and plants growing up through the concrete to create a layers -plants, figure, then building. Through the use of a long exposure and movement the figure is seen as a ghostly shadow; a trace.
